The Bail Bond reform act signed into law June 20th, 2023 by South Carolina Gov. McMaster plays a key role in todays society. House Bill 3532, now called Law R-98, amends existing law pertaining to bond, pretrial release and electronic monitoring.
Under the new reform act courts can automatically revoke bond for people charged with a crime while out on bail for a violent offense or any felony involving a firearm.
- Full cash bonds will be required on anyone charged with a violent offense while released on bond for a prior felony offense or a felony offense involving a firearm while out on bond or pretrial release (H.3532)
- Out on bond for a Violent crime and commit another. Five years automatically added to sentence (Sect 17-15-15/17-15-270)
